Does care make one wise or do wise people care? Or both?

Take 3 days to grow more wise and caring.

THIS POST IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

PLEASE COME BACK IN A FEW DAYS FOR THE FINAL VERSION.

Day 1 -- The Beginning of Wisdom

You are invited.

The book of Proverbs begins with an invitation. Wisdom isn't simply information or intelligence; it begins with a relationship with God. God invites us to learn to know, trust, and follow Him. In the process He changes not only what we know but who we become. Caring people don't simply learn better techniques—they develop a wiser, more caring heart.

Read

  • Proverbs 1:7
  • Proverbs 2:1–6
  • Proverbs 9:10

Search for wisdom.

  1. According to these verses, where does true wisdom begin?
  2. How is seeking wisdom different from simply gaining knowledge?
  3. If God is making me wiser, how might that change the way I care for people today?

Today's formation question:

How is God using today's Proverbs to shape the kind of person He wants me to become?

Day 2 – Think wisely.

MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE

Every day we make countless decisions. Wisdom doesn't remove difficult choices, but it gives us a different way to make them. Instead of relying only on our own understanding, we learn to trust God and guard our hearts, because our actions flow from the kind of people we are becoming.

Search for wisdom.

Proverbs 3:5–7

  • Proverbs 4:23
  • Proverbs 16:3

Questions to Ponder

  1. What decision am I facing where I need God's wisdom more than my own understanding?
  2. Why do you think Proverbs tells us to guard our hearts rather than simply control our behavior?
  3. How would a wise heart affect the way I respond to someone who needs my care today?

Day 3 – Wisdom Changes the Way We See People

Read

  • Proverbs 11:25
  • Proverbs 14:21
  • Proverbs 19:17

Thought

Wisdom is never self-centered. A wise person notices people, values people, and responds with generosity and compassion. As God forms a caring nature within us, we begin to see others not as interruptions but as opportunities to reflect His character.

Questions to Ponder

  1. What do these verses teach about God's attitude toward people in need?
  2. How does wisdom influence not only what we do but also the way we see others?
  3. Who might God be inviting me to notice, encourage, or help today?
