It takes all of us and step by step we are gaining ground.

This post is under construction and will be finished soon.
The Impact of Best Care Ministry Earlier this Year (and even a little into last year).
Caring is difficult.
It takes energy, intentionality and time.
But perhaps most difficult, it requires wisdom to understand the people we live, work and worship with.
Every day, they carry burdens that few others see — grief, illness, ministry pressure, family crisis, and quiet loneliness.
Many want to help, but without training or support, they often feel overwhelmed or unsure how to respond. That is emotionally and mentally draining. Sometimes it causes a crisis of belief. It takes time, but this is where lives and ministries are transformed and when it happens it is exciting.
I hope you can share in my excitement with the impact that is beyond measure.
Supporting Those Walking Through Grief
I participated in three Blue Christmas services and initiated another locally and three in Colorado. At a Blue Christmas service in a retirement/skilled nursing facility, one elderly widow lifted her hand in quiet praise. Alone in the crowd, she grieved what she has lost and praised her Lord for the hope she has. Of the several hundred that attended these services, I remember her most.
Your support helps me offer these services and train leaders to care well for those who grieve. And with your support we can now offer a printable version of the Blue Christmas service that with added graphics is as beautiful as it is powerful.
Expanding Training Resources
Pastor Jeff Parris and I meet every Tuesday, in my study, to write a 7 Week/52 Day Devotional Series for use with the 7 Essentials. More than behavioral skills, is the spiritual experience of God’s love and becoming the vessel through which it flows. We hope to have it available by the end of March. Next? The 7 Essentials in Proverbs. “It is Wise to Care.”
Building Trusted Ministry Partnerships
I’ve spent hundreds of hours and enjoyed many cups of coffee with ministry leaders like Tadd. I was made for this. The Lord has blessed me with a lifetime of ministry experience in the trenches of pastoral care. It is from there I can understand the struggle of the average pastor and the needs for care that everyone experiences sooner or later. There are a lot of ministry leaders who need someone to affirm them and give a fresh set of tools for a difficult and different time in history.
Churches Implementing The 7 Essentials
Five churches have been trained or begun using The 7 Essentials for Caring That Makes a Difference so their members will care for one another and reach into their communities. As I work with the pastors using the 7 Essentials, I also keep refining the format and content so they will learn a new perspective on ministry and be ignited with a passion that makes ministry exciting. There will be a rebranded version ready in print and on the website around the end of March. The new look will include a 7 Essentials logo that reveals refinement, balance and a marker along the trail of life and ministry – because this is more than a program. We are helping people become caring people for a lifetime.
Expanding Into Workplace Care
The Jim Glibert CPA firm has invited Dan to offer business-focused version of the 7 Essentials, applying compassionate care principles to leadership, employee support, and their workplace culture. Jim says, “Caring creates a rewarding life.”
The Spiritual Foundation Behind This Work
Best Care Ministry grows from a deep commitment to Scripture and spiritual formation. This year, I continue my devotional Bible study through The Bible Recap and EVERYDAY I see at least one of the 7 Essentials in the text and I enter it into this journal. I’m seeing care cover to cover in the Bible. I’ve been told, “You are not just writing about skills but developing the theology of care.” There is a lot of potential here. One thing is for sure, it is speaking to me. Do you want to be part of this scriptural adventure with me?
