Increasing respect for Care Ministry
Dan Hettinger • December 30, 2022

An amazing group of people, providing compassionate care to countless people, in immeasurable ways,

who are worthy of the highest respect!

How can we increase the perceived value of Care Ministry in 2023?

Two Care Minsters told me me, "I do not get respect nor support from my church."

This challenge came into focus for me when I was visiting a care pastor who said, "The senior pastor is all about church growth. I get the messy stuff." Another Care Pastor from a large church told me, "Senior pastors can be really hard to work with (he used stronger language as he expressed his frustration)."

These statements
motivate me. Care ministries, care pastors and acts of care make an positive impact on ministries everywhere. We are an amazing group of people, providing compassionate care to countless people, in immeasurable ways, and are worthy of the highest respect!

Most importantly, when we care for people we are participating with God to accomplish His work of love and helping people cry to God from the deepest and darkest places of their lives.

"Listen to my words, Lord, consider my lament.

Hear my cry for help, my King and my God,

for to you I pray."

Psalm 5:1,2

"Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord.

Lord, hear my voice.

Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy."

Psalm 130:1,2

Care Ministry deserves the highest respect.

In 2023, my highest priority in ministry is to...

  1. Increase the awareness of the importance and effectiveness of care ministry.
  2. Increase the size of the audience discovering the results and benefits of care ministry.
  3. Increase the engagement of the audience with care ministry opportunities and resources.
  4. Increase the use and application of care skills and tools to help others and glorify God.

Here are three ways you can help the cause.

First, commit to providing the best care in every area of your life.

Second, spread the world about Care Ministry.

Read my emails and blog posts every week and forward them to colleagues, friends and family.

Listen to the podcast each week and share them with others.

Third, support Best Care Ministry with prayer and financial support as God leads and enables you.

The world is in need and church leaders are looking for answers. Your participation will bring respect to care ministry and advance the work of God.

I hope these posts help us care better than ever before.

It was comfortable. It was appropriate. We were comforted with two opportunities to care.
