....for supporting us during my cancer journey!
Dan Hettinger • October 25, 2025

I wish I could give each of you a hug!

One of the burdens of a cancer journey are the extra expanses.

Many of you joined GoFundMe with others from

Dan's Cancer journey on Facebook or in Caring Bridge

in raising over

$12,000.00.

THANK YOU!!!

Week #12 is this week. It is a milestone week.

  • I got my post-op scans yesterday to see how the healing has gone inside.
  • I will meet with my surgeon to evaluate the progress and plan the next steps.
  • We literally plan the next steps. For the first time since surgery, I may go to full weight bearing, as tolerated, on my right leg.
  • I will begin physical therapy. I'm not tolerating full weigh bearing very well yet. A bad limp. Eager to strengthen the atrophied muscles.
  • And we pay off the remainder of our portion of the expenses at Cleveland Clinic. We were able to cover previous expanses including 2 months for the rental of a hospital bed in my study, a hotel room near the hospital for Susan to be present during my 2 weeks in the hospital.

No one should do this alone.

The care received helps the burden to be lighter.

The relationship with the donor makes the journey a blessing.

Care received reveals the value of caring for one another.

I wish everyone could receive support as wonderful as mine.

My affection for you in this care ministry community is beyond measure.

THANK YOU!

It was comfortable. It was appropriate. We were comforted with two opportunities to care.
